Science
Artrhurstown Landfill
Arthurstown Landfill or Kill Dump as it is sometimes referred to in Kill is a waste management facility for Dublin and Kildare. It takes in waste in bales, which are stacked one on top of another and then covered in soil. It is a a very modern facility. Our 6th Class visited it to learn more about waste management as part of their science programme in order to get the Excellence in Science Award.
Below are some pictures. The Hawks in the pictures are used to scare away scavanging birds which would otherwise spread rubbish outside the site.
